There are several 3D printing techniques, roughly divided into three categories: resin-based, filament-based (the most common), and powder-bed-based. phits are printed with powder bed technologies because of the accuracy, durability, and scalability they provide. For example, where filament printers can only print one insole at a time, powder bed printers allow us to print more than 50 pairs in a single batch, making it much more efficient.

The 3D-printed base is very durable. With normal use, either for daily wear or sports activities, you can expect the base to last for at least two years without any deformities. Depending on the intensity of use, your top cover may wear out faster than this, but you can easily replace them whenever necessary.

Yes! Replacing the top cover is easy. Simply send the orthotics back to our production facility alongside your return form, and our production team will adjust them with the top cover of your preference to make them as good as new again.

Yes, they are! We suggest cleaning your orthotics with mild soap and water, then letting them air-dry afterward.

Each phits insole is unique and has its own order ID number. With this number, you can look up the design parameters you previously added and copy them to the new orthotic design. An advantage of the phits design software is that it remembers your design adjustments. This means that they will still be there when you later review your patient's session.

In your phits order list, you’ll find an overview of all the orders you've submitted and their designs. Each design is also linked to the footscan session of your patient, so you can always go back and revise the design you made for a specific footscan measurement.

Yes, it is. When you start your orthotic design from a 3D scan, you have all the design options available. However, as phits are initially designed based on dynamic pressure characteristics, we strongly suggest including a dynamic measurement to fully benefit from all the intrinsic advantages 3D-printed orthotics provide.

3D printing allows you to produce lightweight orthotics with an accuracy of 0.1 mm, and the production process is naturally less wasteful than traditional techniques. The 3D-printed structures allow you to add intrinsic corrections to your orthotics instead of making extra (often bulky) corrections used in conventional manufacturing methods.
