footscan pressure plates

Entry level
These plug-and-play footscan systems are affordable without sacrificing performance. They’re easy to transport in the optional travel case.
- 0.5 meter
The smallest entry-level pressure plate. Ideal for travel or standing tests. - 1 meter
This larger plate captures a complete gait cycle. It’s ideal for balance measurements like golf swings. - 1.5 meter
This option is a professional solution for gait and running research. It’s durable and features a new black housing design.

Advanced level
These high-speed footscan systems offer more scanning power and a selection of plate sizes. Take precise plantar pressure measurements with high-density sensors at a high scanning rate.
- 1 meter
This plate’s high-speed measurements and length offer more comfortable and realistic measurements with no need to target the footsteps. This system includes our 2D interface box. - 2 meter
Capture multiple steps at high speed. This system includes our 2D interface box.

High-end level
These full-option, high-speed footscan systems combine scanning power with the integration of third-party products such as force plates, EMG systems, motion capture systems, and much more. Take precise plantar pressure measurements with high-density sensors at a high scanning rate.
- 1 meter
This plate’s high-speed measurements and length offer more comfortable and realistic measurements with no need to target the footsteps. This system includes our 3D interface box. - 2 meter
Capture multiple steps at high speed. This system includes our 3D interface box.

Materialise SAM — The 3D Scanning App
SAM brings gold-standard 3D scanning to your iOS device, helping you analyze your patients on the go with no equipment necessary. Use various protocols to scan your patients' feet and lower limbs, lasts, foam boxes, and more, then send it all directly to your footscan software for further analysis.
Compatible devices
SAM is available for the following iOS devices:
- iPhone 12 (all models)
- iPhone 13 (all models)
- iPhone 14 (all models)
- iPad Pro 11 inch (2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation)
- iPad Pro 12.9 inch (4th, 5th, and 6th generation)
- Find out which model you have
3D scanning protocols
SAM includes easy-to-follow guided protocols for the most common 3D scans:
- Foam box
- Plantar surface unloaded
- Plantar surface loaded
- Foot unloaded
Fully compatible with footscan software
SAM is easy to integrate into your regular workflow. Start your session by scanning a QR code in your footscan software, complete the 3D scan using your iOS device, then upload it securely and directly to footscan to begin your analysis and insole design*.
*This feature is only available for users with a SAM license.
Quality of life features
SAM is easy to use. Begin your scan with the press of a button, via voice commands, or using a timer for a delayed start.
Accessories
Interface box
2D interface boxes are required for advanced level systems and 3D interface boxes are required for high-end level systems. The 3D interface box allows you to sync and trigger inputs and outputs, and integrate third-party products such as force plates, EMG systems, and motion capture through high-speed cameras.

Runway
These foam tiles are placed before and after the pressure plate to ensure a level surface.

Flight case
Protects pressure plates while on the move.

Materialise SAM Mirror
Scanning is easier with the SAM Mirror. Attach it to your iPhone or iPad for an unrestricted view of your patient’s foot, lower limb, foam box, or other podiatric devices from all angles.
