Chief Accountant

We are currently looking for a Chief Accountant to join our Polish office located in Bielany Wrocławskie who is comfortable in a dynamic and constantly evolving organization

What you will do

  • Handle the full spectrum of the financial and cost accounting role: forecasting, budgeting, etc.
  • Manage the day-to-day finance and accounts operations, including general entries and month-end close
  • Perform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accounts
  • Perform project cost forecasts, budgets, cost tracking, monitoring, and controls
  • Develop and maintain an internal control and effective accounting system and policies (ensuring SOx compliance)
  • Assist in auditing and developing recommendations for accounting policy and procedures
  • Provide financial analysis and investigate data
  • Ensure timely and qualitative monthly reporting to HQ
  • Manage timely filings regarding taxes, subsidies, grants, etc. in conjunction with HQ and external consultants
  • Compiles necessary financial reports of monthly financial statements and business unit review presentation materials
  • Be responsible for bank reconciliations and reviewing various general ledger accounts for accuracy; investigate any discrepancies and make the appropriate adjustments
  • Work directly with customers or vendors to supply assistance and obtain or give information
  • Provide financial analysis for special projects as directed
  • Develop costing models and methods for internal production
  • Manage the transition to a single ERP being rolled out worldwide (Microsoft D365 Fin&Ops)
  • Lead of a team of two accountants
  • Provide local support to procurement processes in coordination with the HQ procurement team

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, economy, or a related field
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken (at least B2 level)
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in financial and management accounting
  • Working experience in a subsidiary of a multinational company, preferably in a production environment
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, follow procedures, work well independently or in a team setting, and adapt to changes
  • Relevant experience in audit and costing is highly appreciated
  • Previous experience in people management is an additional asset
  • Familiarity with IFRS and SOX is advantageous
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and ability to interact with all levels
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good MS Office skills, particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel
  • Experience using Microsoft Navision and/or Microsoft D365 F&O accounting software is strongly preferred
