Being involved from an early stage, Materialise provided the Philips engineers with extended quotes and technical support to optimise their design for injection moulding .
Several tests with alternative materials were performed in prototype moulds. Our team was able to keep down costs by developing a tool with interchangeable cores (3 versions of assy housing were injected in just 1 mould). The customer was invited to our production site to discuss first samples. On delivery, the whole project was supported by detailed measurement reports according to the customer's specifications.
